About Community Fair

  WHAT WE DO :
Community Fair is a not-for-profit charitable organisation dedicated to improving community life and social well-being. We aim to provide facilities, services, financial support and more to good causes that assist those in need within the community as well as charitable projects that improve the lives of communities as a whole. The key objectives of the charity are to support vulnerable groups, provide social and domestic support for those suffering from poor health, support the social development of children and young people, relieve financial hardship and the improvement of rural and urban environments. Our objectives are listed in more detail below.

Our principal method of fund raising is through our online charity sales. All items have been kindly donated and are offered for sale online to the general public. We are always looking for new donations and buyers as well. If you have anything in your home that you no longer need or use then please consider donating it online to Community Fair. Your donations are greatly appreciated!

  OUR ONLINE SALES :
Whether buying or selling, our online price drop sales are quick and easy to use. Items are listed and each day the price is reduced until the item is sold or the listing expires. Buyers and sellers need to be registered first, but we only need a few basic details about yourself. Purchases can be easily made either through your Paypal account or securely online with a credit or debit card. Items listed are either available for collection and/or via the post as indicated in the listing.

Donating items is also very simple. After logging into the website just follow the 'List Item' link and fill in the details and description of the item. You can upload up to three images. While it is possible to list an item with no images we would be grateful if you upload at least one image as this helps our buyers considerably and may save many questions from prospective purchasers. Please enter a realistic starting price. This should be the maximum value you think the item is worth and will be the price at which it is first listed. Each day the price will be reduced a little until the item is sold or until the listing expires, (after one month). Items may be listed for collection or for delivery by post. If you wish to list an item with postage then you will need a Paypal account so that we can send you the postage fee.

  FREECYCLE or COMMUNITY FAIR ?
If you have an item that deserves another life you may consider listing on such sites as Freecycle or Community Fair. Obviously we would like you to consider donating to us and we believe we can offer many advantages over some of the free recycling websites. 1) All proceeds go to a good cause. Free items on other sites may go to car boot sales and other outlets for personal gain. 2) If appropriate, you can charge a postal or delivery fee through our website. (A Paypal account is required for this). 3) When an item is sold it's listing is removed so you won't continue to receive persistent enquiries. 4) Registered users will be automatically entered into our periodic free competitions. 5) Submitting details and images on our website is quick and simple and all items are categorised to assist finding the right buyer. 6) Smaller items can be dropped off at our premises in Petworth, West Sussex. Please contact us first and we can arrange to receive suitable items.

  PARTNERING PROGRAM :
Community Fair also offer a fund raising Partnering Program for organisations, groups and good causes to help raise cash for any of the benefits falling within our charitable objectives, (as listed below). With our Partnering Program we can accept donated items that are marked for a specific benefit and the proceeds of the sales forwarded to your charitable cause. For further information about our Partnering Program please follow the link.
